A Will Away, Boston Manor, Trophy Eyes and Moose Blood… A ‘stacked’ line up, according to the group of fans hanging out at the front of the barricade of the Bottom Lounge. I’ve said it before, but I’ll keep saying it: Chicago never fails to show their support for music. The pop punk scene went above and beyond last week, and the excitement was through the roof.
From A Will Away, the opening band, to Moose Blood, the headliners, the crowd showed their passion by vocalizing every word to each song. It got to the point where the bands themselves didn’t even need to sing their own lyrics. It was such a unique experience to be a part of. There’s nothing better than sitting back to watch a performance, and seeing the pure enjoyment of every single human in the room, including the artists on stage.
Moose Blood performed jams from both of their full length records, I’ll Keep You in Mind, From Time to Time and Blush. There was constant crowd surfing during the upbeat moments, and intimate singalongs during the mellower interludes.
For an international group, Moose Blood has an immense amount of support over here in the States, and it showed on this evening in Chicago. Overall, it was a night filled with many emotions, and especially love for this group.
