St. Patrick’s Day may have passed, but it came early for Chicago this year, as we were lucky enough to have Cash Cash roll through for a small fest called Lectric Leprechaun. Because it was held in one of the ballroom venues, the amount of people who showed up on a weeknight was far from disappointing, and ample glow sticks, sparkles, and lots of green made it one of the most exciting St. Patrick’s Day events in the city this year.

The electronic music scene isn’t one that I’m used to, but I was quickly able to adjust thanks to the good vibes all around. From the moment I entered the venue, I noticed that there were decorations covering the walls, festive merchandise booths, and popular radio jams playing through the speakers to stir up the excitement.

Cash Cash was the second act of the evening, and, by that time, the celebration was in full swing. The duo performed songs like ‘Take Me Home,” featuring Bebe Rexha, and their newest release, “Matches,” featuring Rozes. They even threw it back to the early 2000s with Nelly’s “Ride With Me” while the audience chanted “must be the money” for obvious reasons.

The bright lights are just one of the things that make the electronic scene so well known. Cash Cash used their setup to project lyrics, scenes from their music videos, and other unique effects to compliment the vibes of each song. They used their energy to keep the crowd involved throughout, and, fittingly, the crowd reaction consisted of a lot of dancing, singing along, and constant cheering.

Although this was a holiday celebration performance, you’ll find that Cash Cash continues to release new music and travel the country. If they come through your city anytime soon, make sure to check out their show. And if you happen to find yourself in Las Vegas, don’t hesitate to catch them on their residency!
