After releasing their first EP early last year via Pure Noise Records, Cant Swim is ready to take over 2017 with a new full-length, an upcoming US tour with Four Year Strong, and a European tour immediately after with Real Friends and Microwave. They recently finished a small run supporting the ten-year anniversary of Set Your Goals’ Mutiny. I had been looking forward to seeing them live for such a long time, and their performance absolutely exceeded my expectations.
The alt-rock five piece kicked off their set with the upbeat and energetic “Stranger,” followed by a mix of tracks from their EP, such as “Right Choice” and “Way It Was.” On top of that, Can’t Swim also performed unreleased songs from their upcoming album, including “What’s Your Big Idea?” They finished strong with “Your Clothes,” the track that got me into Cant Swim in the first place. Overall, my only complaint is that their set wasn’t longer, and I look forward to seeing them again in the (hopefully) near future.
